Our shared goal is to improve P-20 education for all students in the Kansas City metropolitan area by providing powerful tools for data-driven educational policy research, evaluation, and implementation.
KC-AERC is currently accepting new research requests. If you feel you have an education research project, please email a brief abstract to info@kcaerc.org. We will review these with the governance board to decide whether they may be appropriate for our research agenda.
KC-AERC faculty surveyed 59 Kansas and Missouri school superintendents at a superintendent’s round table meeting in November 2008 about the relative significance of potential pilot research projects. The superintendents identified issues that most strongly affected the performance of their districts and their ability to meet annual yearly progress (AYP) benchmarks. For the initial years of KC-AERC, our affiliated university faculty are addressing these research needs through several pilot studies:
