The purpose of this all day conference was to discuss the logistics and benefits of an education research consortium in the Kansas City metro area. Topics included:
A brief background of education research consortia
How and why Kansas City can benefit from an organized and sustained research effort
Developing a data-driven culture in education
Governance and process concerns in building a research consortium in the Kansas City metro area.
Participants included representatives from metro area school districts, Kansas and Missouri education departments, other research consortia from across the nation and the U.S. Department of Education.
